New York Fashion Week is currently in session, and while I'm not around to participate this year, I always love staying up-to-date with its accompanying street style. It's been especially interesting to see how everyone dresses for the city's far below-freezing weather. As a college student, my biggest concern when dressing for shows was making my mass market-based wardrobe look comparable to that of a top editor. As much fun as it is to dress to impress for Fashion Week, I don't believe you need to spend a fortune to do so. Here's an idea of how you can look like a million bucks without breaking the bank.
It is always important to pay attention to fit. Even if you're wearing the newest trend, a misfitting piece will easily ruin the entire outfit. With my petite height, I gravitate towards high-waisted bottoms that will elongate my legs and keep me photo-ready for Fashion Week. I also recommend staying in your style comfort zone while adding a subtle statement (aka this bag), because feeling good and looking good go hand in hand.
As I slightly mentioned above, accessories can make an outfit. In addition to a great bag, you'll always see a New Yorker with a go-to pair of sunglasses. I personally try to avoid spending hundreds on sunglasses because they can be easily lost or broken. This pair from KickFly's is one of my new favorites because it combines quality and style without the price. In addition to its versatile silhouette and color, these shades come polarized all for less than 40 bucks. Added to this outfit, the result is a chic yet practical look that is ready for the chaos that is Fashion Week (or any other day really).

DeleteTotally agree that FIT is everythinggg. There are so many cute items that I want to buy but a lot of clothes are big on me and would make me look way unattractive. That being said, this crop top fits you just right and looks amazing on you!

Aw thank you Karina!! :) I hope you can too!
DeleteI like how low-key chic this look is. I've been keeping up with the NYFW street style and half the time I just want to call out all those people, because they're wearing stuff that goes way beyond their usual personal style just to be noticed. Fashion shouldn't be about that. Above everything else, it should compliment your personality. And your look is doing just that :)
