Christina Goes Cruising: 1 Trip, 3 Amazing Destinations
Thursday, December 31, 2015
Looking back on this year's events, it is only fitting that my last post of 2015 falls under the travel category. In a few words I can say that this was a year to be remembered. I spent half a year in China, graduated college, and landed my first full-time job, all the while losing and re-discovering myself along the way.
To conclude 2015 here on Looks by Lau, I'm sharing highlights from all three destinations on my recent Western Caribbean cruise. Let it be encouragement to continue exploring and discovering, as well as a hint about the posts to come at the start of 2016 (-wink-).
Christina Goes Cruising: Onboard Outfits
Tuesday, December 29, 2015
The best thing about sailing on the world's largest cruise ship is never feeling crowded by the six thousand passengers on board. It is a ship unlike any other, equipped with everything from a zip line to its own Central Park. Today I'm sharing three of the outfits I wore onboard this massive ship, along with some of my favorite spots to enjoy the sea breeze.
Christina Goes Cruising: Formal Night
Sunday, December 27, 2015
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! It's strange how one week without blogging can seem like a lifetime, but it was so nice to enjoy a relaxing trip with family to finish out the year. I will be sharing more trip details in the coming days, but for now I am returning with my first outfit post from the sea.
Every cruise vacation has at least one formal night scheduled in, and my sister and I never take that attire suggestion lightly. Since we were under Caribbean temperatures, I decided to show some skin in this romper with a plunging v-neck and open back.
Quick Life Update: Holiday Getaway
Saturday, December 19, 2015
And we're back at sea! In celebration of my recent graduation from college, my family and I have set sail to three amazing destinations with Royal Caribbean. For that reason I will not be blogging until I return next weekend, but I wanted to drop by with an update to let you know of the exciting content to come.
Until then, feel free to follow along on social media to find out where I'm headed! I wish you and your families all a wonderful holiday season. Let me know how you are finishing up 2015 in the comments below!

Months ago in July I had created a post entitled "Why It's Okay to Feel Lost" with the help of my friend Van. Amidst the whirlwind that has been this semester, I almost entirely forgot about those thoughts until just now. It's strange the way time works. C.S. Lewis was not lying when he said, "It's funny how day by day nothing changes, but when you look back, everything is different."
I shot these photos on a family visit in Virginia, during which most of the weekend was spent catching up on the past few months. Thinking back on our conversations about graduating, work, and travel, I am realizing that this feeling of being lost from the summer is now nothing but a distant memory.
Business in The Front...
Sunday, December 13, 2015
We all know the saying. I spent this weekend visiting family in Virginia, where the temperatures seemed to bypass winter and hit the springtime 70's. With this unseasonably warm weather, I took the opportunity to bare some skin for the first time in months. Although I may have chosen the wrong location to attempt this look, as my aunt quickly noted that my outfit was not exactly the suburban norm. #NoShame.
Winter Outings
Thursday, December 10, 2015
The arrival of December means the imminent flood of all things holiday, from streets lined with lights to endless loops of Christmas music on the radio. My favorite part about this time of year is the sense of togetherness it brings about. The holidays present the perfect time to reunite with loved ones and look back on the year that has passed. As an added bonus, these reunions usually create the opportunity to dress to impress as well.
Battery Park City
Sunday, December 6, 2015
As long as I have been in New York, I rarely find myself heading south all the way to Battery Park City. I made a rare trip to the downtown waterfront this past Saturday to visit the Museum of Feelings, an installation made for emotional interaction. Despite the energy of this area between museum goers and crowds of ballet audience members, Battery Park City does not feel like Manhattan -- in the best way. There was a familial holiday spirit spread throughout the elegantly decorated space, in a way that felt like the suburbs again.

Wednesday, December 2, 2015
Cue the holiday music! We are officially less than a month away from a new year, though it seems as if I was writing my 2015 resolutions yesterday. For many of us, this time of year means a great deal of rushing to finish work and unending shopping trips despite the holiday cheer.
