Lesson learned: Pudong is best on a sunny day.
But there is a certain beauty to the other side of Shanghai on a gloomy day like this one. My boyfriend and I spent a day exploring Lujiazui, the area of Pudong closest to the Huangpu River that is fully equipped with large-scale tourist attractions. For any future Shanghai travelers, this area is ideal on a blue sky day, but we decided to make the best of the overhead gloom. Read on for more details!

It has officially been a week since I landed in Shanghai, and the experience has been nothing short of amazing so far. There is so much to discover in this city of both tradition and advancement from luxurious shopping malls to classical gardens. The time has finally come! If you've been following along on Instagram, you'll know that I've been hinting at a major upcoming trip. This time, however, it isn't just a week-long vacation - it's a semester-long study abroad program!
