Thanksgiving + Some Black Friday Pickups!
Friday, November 29, 2013
Hi everyone! I hope you've all had a great holiday! Below is my Thanksgiving look and some Black Friday purchases, followed by details. Thanks for checking in!
Nine West nude heels | $40 from Macy's
Forever 21 handbags | About $12 each
Outfit:
H&M faux suede motorcycle jacket and handbag | Forever 21 drop waist dress | Zara booties
Happy (belated) Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you were able to relax, enjoy your company, and stuff your faces with deliciousness! I'd like to thank everyone who has supported me on my fashionable endeavors, through both Instagram and this new blog. I truly appreciate you all!
I'm writing to you from my grandparents' house in Boston, just after six long hours of Black Friday shopping. The mall here actually kept to tradition and did not open until 6 am. I personally prefer this, since I believe today's eager shoppers should still appreciate being with family on the day of Thanksgiving. What do you think?
As you can see, I really didn't purchase too much, but I am quite satisfied! I don't know how I've made it this long without a pair of nude heels. I am so grateful to Macy's for offering endless sales that finally pushed me to buy them. I also couldn't resist the 50% off handbag sale at Forever 21. I'm usually not one to splurge on a bag, so I'm very happy with the two I purchased (for only $12!).
Comment below & tell me about your Thanksgiving day/Black Friday buys! I'm off to check out some online retailers and hopefully make a few more clothing purchases. Talk to you soon!

Forever 21 faux leather jacket | Zara booties | Celebrity Jeans found at TJ Maxx
With such gloomy skies looming over the Northeast today, I decided to add a pop of red to my outfit. This faux leather jacket is the perfect statement piece, especially at such a great price thanks to Forever 21. When I'm in a rush for work, I just throw this over an easy all black ensemble and my outfit is instantly transformed!
I am also in love with my new Zara booties. Someone once told me they're so pointy I could seriously injure someone with them. I've heard a variety of opinions regarding the pointed toe, but I am personally a huge fan. I think they add an interesting, unexpected pop to an outfit. Since I was already wearing such a bold jacket, I figured I might as well continue that theme from head to toe. How do you feel about pointed toes? I'd love to hear opinions!
Thanks for reading, and I wish everyone who is celebrating a Happy Thanksgiving!

H&M beanie & coat | Urban Outfitters high waisted jeans | Aldo shoes
Although these photos were taken in Jersey, this is the prime example of my "typical New Yorker" commuting look. A beanie to fight the wind, a long coat to bundle up, and flat black booties to race with the time on the walk signal. Practical, yet chic.
I especially love the quilted sleeves on this coat. They add a nice amount of texture to an otherwise simple outfit. Mixed media is still one of my favorite trends in outerwear because it creates an interesting edge in a look. I think it gives the illusion that this outfit is not as simple as a coat, t-shirt, and jeans.
My inspiration for this outfit was Danielle of WeWoreWhat. As a fellow New Yorker, she always finds a way to combine a chic, tomboy look with practicality for navigating the city. You can't forget her signature beanie as well! Who do you take your fashion inspiration from? I'd love to follow some new blogs!

H&M jacket | Uniqlo turtleneck | Forever 21 skirt & shoes | Revlon's Raspberry Bite lipstick
After months of debating and days of creating, I have finally published my first blog post! If you'd like to learn a little more about me, feel free to click the link in the nav bar above. Otherwise, check back for future posts, and join me as I navigate through a life in fashion.
I went back to the suburbs this weekend to escape the chaos that is New York. As much as I love the hustle and bustle of the city, a girl needs a break sometimes. Today, I sported my usual all-black attire under a pop of geometry. I had been eyeing this jacket at H&M for so long and finally scored it for half off! You'll find that I'm also a huge supporter of the red lip. It really brightens up any outfit, and as you'll soon discover, my winter ensembles need just that.
Feel free to leave a comment below or contact me! I'm new to the blogging community, so I welcome any suggestions. Thanks for stopping by!
