I spent a recent weekend visiting family away from the city, and it quickly became just the escape I needed. As much as I love the vibrancy of New York, the city has its way of burning you out before you have time to hit the breaks. This particular trip was spent looking after my baby cousins and lounging around their quiet suburban home that sits on a lake. Over the course of the entire weekend there was no sense of hurry or need to fulfill a checklist of tasks. The rush of daily life stood still for just long enough to remind me to appreciate these small moments.

The Hermès Twilly Wrap.

There is no doubt that Hermès is the leader when it comes to scarf style, so I've recreated one of my favorite wraps by the iconic brand for this week's challenge. The night before any day of travel,  I make sure to pack my bag with all the essentials to avoid rushing out the door the next morning. Next time you're prepping for the day, give your travel bag an upgrade by wrapping your scarf around the handles for that Hermès-inspired pop of color.

70's Flashback.

The weather has officially hit that transitional period of arctic mornings and unpredictable afternoons. As much as I love fall temperatures, getting dressed now means struggling to battle the early chill without sweating bullets later in the day. I typically count on various layers to take on the seasonal transition, but that doesn't stop at outerwear. Taking on a versatile, adaptable look for autumn is as easy as a pair of over-the-knee socks.

There are tons of things that scare me, but style is never one of them. As a blogger I've learned to force myself into comfort when seemingly overdressed in public. Take this shoot as an example. Despite how it seems, I'm in the suburbs where monochrome outfits don't exist, blocking confused onlookers from crossing this bridge while I keep my serious camera face on. The overall situations of my shoots are not unlike those in real life. If the occasion allows for it, simply out of preference I will dress to the nines -- because I can.

With the fall breeze making its way in, my summer wardrobe is officially fading out. As much as I already miss the sunny season, my closet is ready to welcome autumnal tones and my borderline obsession with booties.
