Winter Outings

The arrival of December means the imminent flood of all things holiday, from streets lined with lights to endless loops of Christmas music on the radio. My favorite part about this time of year is the sense of togetherness it brings about. The holidays present the perfect time to reunite with loved ones and look back on the year that has passed. As an added bonus, these reunions usually create the opportunity to dress to impress as well.

Especially in New York, dressing for these outings can pose a challenge when attempting to battle the winter chill. Today's look is a solution to the holiday struggle, as it features pieces that will keep you (mostly) covered without getting lost under bulky layers.

Though my height does not typically compliment midi dresses, I've slowly become comfortable with the silhouette especially in this PB Sands piece. For my fellow petite girls, here's a tip -- try a fitted dress to show your figure and avoid being swallowed by length. The combination of the midi length and oversized coat add just a bit more warmth as opposed to the mini holiday dress.
