Until recently, I've prided myself on refusing to take a break from blogging since this site was launched. On multiple occasions I would carry my backpack home to Jersey for just a day to take several weeks' worth of photos in preparation.
If you've been following along on Instagram, you'll know I just returned from a month of backpacking through Europe shortly following a few weeks in Asia. Needless to say this kind of travel does not quite accommodate blogging, so I finally took my first slight break in 2.5 years. And you know what? It was worth it.
Cozy in Camel + Blog Announcement
Friday, January 22, 2016
I hope you have enjoyed my travel snippets from Asia over the past week! If there is one thing Seoul and New York have in common, it is in the intense winter chill. This kind of weather calls for the chunkiest knits and oversized coats -- in neutrals, of course.
Our last few days in Korea were spent waking up to five-degree temperatures, hence the unfortunate lack of photos. But don't worry, the travel posts are far from over...
If Winter Storm Jonas cooperates, I will be flying off on a month-long European adventure tonight with just a backpack of belongings. It is just the send-off I need before joining the 9-to-5 world. While this means I will be leaving my laptop behind, I will try my best to upload some phone updates to the blog as often as possible. If not, you can always find me on Instagram!
I apologize in advance for any blogging absence that may occur, but I promise there will be some awesome content to come once I return! Here's to the adventure of a lifetime. Europe, here I come!
On-the-Go: Winter Edition
Wednesday, January 6, 2016
Happy 2016! I hope you have enjoyed a fantastic start to the new year so far. The arrival of this year has been especially exciting for me, as I will be spending the next month traveling internationally before joining the corporate world. Packing lightly during these frigid winter months is never an easy task, so my first post of the year is for the on-the-go girls who want to stay warm, comfortable, and still in style.

Months ago in July I had created a post entitled "Why It's Okay to Feel Lost" with the help of my friend Van. Amidst the whirlwind that has been this semester, I almost entirely forgot about those thoughts until just now. It's strange the way time works. C.S. Lewis was not lying when he said, "It's funny how day by day nothing changes, but when you look back, everything is different."
I shot these photos on a family visit in Virginia, during which most of the weekend was spent catching up on the past few months. Thinking back on our conversations about graduating, work, and travel, I am realizing that this feeling of being lost from the summer is now nothing but a distant memory.
Winter Outings
Thursday, December 10, 2015
The arrival of December means the imminent flood of all things holiday, from streets lined with lights to endless loops of Christmas music on the radio. My favorite part about this time of year is the sense of togetherness it brings about. The holidays present the perfect time to reunite with loved ones and look back on the year that has passed. As an added bonus, these reunions usually create the opportunity to dress to impress as well.
Battery Park City
Sunday, December 6, 2015
As long as I have been in New York, I rarely find myself heading south all the way to Battery Park City. I made a rare trip to the downtown waterfront this past Saturday to visit the Museum of Feelings, an installation made for emotional interaction. Despite the energy of this area between museum goers and crowds of ballet audience members, Battery Park City does not feel like Manhattan -- in the best way. There was a familial holiday spirit spread throughout the elegantly decorated space, in a way that felt like the suburbs again.
