Comfort First

Sunday, April 3, 2016

I commend the New Yorkers who go about their days in three-inch heels and mini skirts. I am certainly not one of them. Now that lower heels and loose-fitting bottoms are moving towards the peak of the trend curve, I'm using every opportunity to keep comfortable in my everyday outfits.

Sweater: c/o Her Velvet Vase (sold out, similar here) | Jeans: ASOS (similar)
Hat: Zara (similar here) | Shoes: H&M | Bag: Kate Spade Saturday

Building my work wardrobe has been my primary shopping focus lately, and for me that means finding the perfect balance between staying polished and keeping cozy. Especially with the intensely blasted A/C in most office buildings, I am not opposed to keeping those winter knits around for just a little longer. This Her Velvet Vase knit is an especially versatile piece to style, though it holds its own with a high neck and rounded sleeves. Along with girlfriend jeans and a pair of low-heeled sueded pumps, I'm taking on those casual Fridays with corporate-friendly comfort.

  17. Great look! Comfort is the most important aspect of an outfit to me because if you aren't comfortable in what you're wearing, you end up feeling less confident than you should.
