Simple NYC Apartment Room Tour

Tuesday, September 29, 2015

Here it is, my humble abode. I moved into a new apartment in the city this past summer, and while it won't last forever, I wanted to make sure it still holds true to my personal style. Read on to find out how I used a minimal amount of decor to create a room I am proud to call home. After all, the simplest adjustments can make all the difference:

Desk Essentials:

A Planner (or two) | Bluetooth speakers | Supply organization | Makeup mirror
An endless collection of pens/pencils | Snacks on hand | Water bottle | Paper tray

Arrow Print: c/o Groopdealz
Quote Print: c/o The Type Co.
Feather Print: Pinterest

For those of you who are looking to redecorate, I recommend starting your inspiration search on Pinterest. Believe me, your inner DIY diva will be unleashed before you know it. I loved the idea of clipboard wall decor because it allows you to change up your art whenever you desire. I always like to keep a motivational statement up to maintain a positive workspace.

An easy organization hack: Use your accessories as decor!

Rug: Ikea | Decal: Amazon | Accent Pillow & Blanket: TJ Maxx

I organized my room with the idea that although this room is temporary in the long-run, little splashes of (affordable) decor can't hurt to make it my cozy escape from the city. If anything, the decor serves as a mini source of motivation, with a world map decal to encourage my travels along with the interchangeable quotes. The white/silver/grey color scheme just keeps things uncluttered and balanced for a simple, but cozy atmosphere.

Let me know what you think of these occasional lifestyle posts in the comments below! I cannot wait to share more with you. :)
