Heels: c/o Ami Clubwear (similar in stock here)
Top, Skirt, & Bag: Forever 21

The outfit posts are not taking a hiatus just yet! As I mentioned in my last post, I have recently started my study abroad semester across the world in Shanghai, China. While this will eventually mean fewer style posts, I have some leftover photos from back home to keep Looks by Lau up and running!

Packing for a four-month move was quite an interesting experience, as I'm sure my fellow shopping addicts can imagine. I found that the best tactic for choosing clothing items was to focus on practicality with a touch of personal style. While this outfit was shot back home, it is a prime example of rearranging basics to create a not-so-basic look. This top has been one of my favorites lately because it puts a twist on your typical tunic and can be worn anywhere from the airport to a night out. In the case of the latter, you can always count on a statement accessory like a pair of lace-up heels to complete the look. Even the simplest of pieces can be dressed up!
