The sun finally broke through New York's incessantly grey skies this weekend as we celebrated the most important women in our lives. Though every day should be an opportunity to appreciate our mothers, there is nothing like a cheerful spring holiday to help us show some extra love. My family and I took our celebration to Sel Rrose, a rustic Bowery gem serving up an oyster happy hour that is not to miss.

Beyond the food, I love visiting New York restaurants for their uniquely urban ambiances. Sometimes it seems as if the more rustic and deconstructed, the more comfortable. It is the character of the city. Sel Rrose is enclosed by this powder blue wall and a simple string of lightbulbs that happened to be the perfect backdrop to this striped off-shoulder dress. Here's hoping spring is finally here to stay.
