Appreciation

Sunday, November 15, 2015

In light of the recent tragedies that have occurred across the world, today's written content is diverting slightly away from my original style-based intentions. Last weekend I had the chance to explore the stunning grounds of Storm King Art Center in New Windsor, NY. I often point to these getaways as escapes from the chaos of the New York, while in reality I am lucky to have the chance to enjoy this vibrant city and every area surrounding it.

Like many others, following these inhumane attacks I learned of the atrocities occurring outside of France, from the bombings in Beirut to the Syrian refugee crisis. I only wish I had known about them earlier. With the rush of our daily lives, it is easy to become wrapped up in the smallest nuisances and forget about the world around us. Despite the stress that everyday life may bring, I am reminding myself to stay thankful for everything I have -- because not everyone can do the same. Here's to appreciating each day we are given and praying for those affected by these tragedies. Pray for Paris, pray for Lebanon, #prayfortheworld.

    1. I absolutely agree! I always need to remind myself to appreciate more and complain less. Many of us are lucky to live the lives we have, and it is important to think of the world as a bigger picture more often.

  4. The tragedies that occurred throughout the week shook me up quite a bit, too, and opened my eyes to appreciation as well. Keeping the nations in my prayers, have a blessed week, Christina. <3

  11. totally agree with you. to be able to wake up everyday in a comfortable place, living a comfortable life, albeit trivial nuisance here and there, is a blessing we often take for granted. #prayfortheworld

The events that have taken place this past week are beyond sad. It breaks my heart knowing that there are some people in this world that go out of their way to hurt another individual.

Praying for the world and praying for humanity. </3
