Thoughts on Staying Genuine

One of my most important goals for this blog is to maintain a completely genuine voice. It is easy to get wrapped up in this unpredictable blogging world of brand collaborations and industry events. I try to remind myself that even amongst all these wonderful opportunities, blogging has become a substantial industry because it involves real people in real situations. More than anything, Looks by Lau  has helped me find my own voice in terms of style, and I am promising to keep it that way.

With that being said, today's post features one of my favorite outfits and a few most-worn pieces of the season.  Regardless of how often I replenish my wardrobe, I always turn to my tailored coat and distressed black jeans as a go-to outfit. Repeating becomes more fun when you learn to play with different combinations of your favorite pieces. In this case, it includes the addition of my new pinstripe turtleneck sweater (which is still on sale!). Its pattern adds a nice mix of detail to the outfit while staying true to my generally minimalistic style. As a result, I felt completely confident walking through the streets of New York in this look because it is genuinely me. I think the same holds true for blogging or any other endeavor you might pursue. Put yourself wholeheartedly into everything you do, and you'll reward yourself with more than any onlookers ever could.
