The arrival of winter comes with several major changes: the holiday craze, new Starbucks drinks, and here in the Northeast, a drastic drop in temperature. Since starting school in New York City, I have never been so affected by this season's weather. When the wind chill is so brutal it alone shuts down your subway line, you know it's time to bring out those winter wardrobe essentials. For me, these include oversized coats, turtlenecks, beanies, and a whole lot of layering.
Today's outfit is a compilation of my go-to winter pieces with a touch of personality. My ears are always the first to freeze when I step outside, so Profound Aesthetic has hooked a girl up with a thick and comfy piece to combat the chill. With the beanie's bold color, I decided to play with monochrome pieces for the remainder of the outfit. The combination of my marled coat and houndstooth skirt create a nice mix of textures that adds some individuality to black and white. Since both are made with heavy fabrics as well, the winter weather is no match for me (with a pair of tights, of course!). What are your essentials for this season? Let me know in the comments below!
