Oxford, England
Tuesday, April 12, 2016
This is no ordinary college visit. As the oldest university in the English-speaking world, Oxford is far beyond any school you have seen before (but I'm sure you knew that from Harry Potter). If you ever find yourself in London, take the day trip to this grand university city and walk in the footsteps of some of the greatest scholars in history.
There is so much to be learned on a trip to Oxford, with my favorite stop being the non-photographable Bodleian Library (Harry Potter fans will also recognize this). Even without one of the many tours, you can easily find yourself simply admiring the elegant, quintessentially English architecture. Today I'm sharing a few snippets from our day trip to what is perhaps one of the most fascinating cities in England.
7 Things to Do in Edinburgh, Scotland
Sunday, March 6, 2016
Oh, Edinburgh. The best way I can describe this stop on our UK tour is both captivating and challenging. Despite the unpredictable weather that hits this beloved city, it is nonetheless spectacular at every corner. Throughout our travels within the United Kingdom, we met several people who claimed that Edinburgh is the nation's most beautiful city. Between the medieval architecture and stunning landscapes, I can see why.
Today I am sharing seven things to do in Edinburgh (although there are many more) for those of you who may stop by one day -- and I strongly urge that you do. Enjoy!
One Day Itinerary: Bath, England
Tuesday, March 1, 2016
Set in the countryside of southwest England is Bath, a city so uniquely beautiful that it has been named a UNESCO World Heritage site. Those who know of the area typically associate it with the historical Roman Baths and natural hot springs. Those who don't chuckle at the name.
After just one day in Bath, I can say that this is now one of my favorite cities in England. What it lacks in size it makes up for in stunning architecture and surroundings. You can easily spend all day admiring the Georgian infrastructure as you roam the quiet streets. Today I'm sharing our itinerary for one day in Bath, in hopes of convincing you to venture to the small English city one day as well.
Favorite Neighborhoods: London's Notting Hill
Friday, February 19, 2016
I have a thing for colorful, cozy neighborhoods. Perhaps it's the cause of living in the concrete jungle, but there is something about London's Notting Hill with its pastel townhouses and hidden mews that tugs at my heart strings. I made a last minute stroll through this cheery neighborhood hours before my flight, and it was the perfect conclusion to my adventures through England. Keep scrolling for snippets of my favorite moments from this romantic part of town.
