A Sense of Home

Where does a Jersey girl go after a semester abroad? To the shore, of course. Despite having spent four months away, upon returning home I felt like I had never left. There is something about traveling that builds your appreciation for familiarity more than ever. Shanghai will forever be my favorite city in the world, but it will never be home.

On a recent day trip to the beach with my sister, I immediately felt a sense of home that I hadn't experienced in a while. I missed my favorite chicken-and-fries lunch from Stewart's and the cold crash of Jersey's unpredictable waves at my feet. I missed the crowds of overly tan fitness junkies and carefree high school students that define our state's reputation. As much as I long for my time abroad, I am happy at home. And that is the way it should always be.

  1. Welcome home, Christina! The way you describe the fullness of being home is so beautiful, and I absolutely love it. You look wonderful, too! The off the shoulder crop looks wonderful on you and the patterned shorts are so fun! I love that the outfit is monochromatic, too!

And even though I am so sad that I have to leave Paris, you can't even guess how happy I am to go back to my family! Lovely post and lovely look. I especially love this croptop on you! X
