L'Amour | Styling Graphic Sweaters
Thursday, April 10, 2014
Hi there! Today I'm joining the lovely Erica of Refined Couture to show you how we style graphic sweaters. This top is one of my most heavily worn in my closet because it's such an easy piece to dress up or down. As you can see below, Erica and I found ways to take the graphic sweatshirt into any occasion. Did you notice that our tops also (unintentionally) match?
Even more coincidentally, Erica and I have connections outside of the virtual world. Her little happens to be my best friend! I'm so glad to have met Erica because she is super sweet and stays true to her classy sense of style. I definitely look up to her as a blogger because she continues to achieve great success in a genuine way.
Check out Erica's blog (here) for more details about her outfit!
This look features a couple of my wardrobe favorites. As mentioned earlier, I can wear this top with countless outfits. I was hesitant at first to spend $30 on a simple sweatshirt, but this one has definitely proven its worth. I think that sporting a cool graphic sweater speaks to your personality while allowing you to create a fairly simple look around it. For today's post, I paired mine with my absolute favorite jeans from Madewell. Thanks again to Lucky Magazine for the awesome swag bag during Fashion Week! Without it, I would have never discovered the perfection of Madewell jeans. I can assure you they are the softest and most comfortable pair I own.
Overall, I wanted to create a light and simple outfit to match the beautiful spring day. This is a versatile look that can be taken from your errands at the grocery store to a lunch date with the girls. All you have to do is change the shoes! Best of all, it's extremely comfortable.
Let me know in the comments below how you wear graphic sweaters. Thanks for stopping by, and stay tuned for my next collaboration with Erica!
Faux Leather Midi Skirt
Monday, March 17, 2014
5'1" height v. the midi skirt. Challenge accepted. For a few months now I've been hunting down a midi skirt that would complement a person of my height (or lack thereof). Leave it to ASOS' Petite collection to do just that. This skirt was my first ever purchase from ASOS, and it certainly won't be my last. With it's sale price of ~$22 from $75 and a 15% off coupon, I scored this piece for only about $18. I can honestly say I've found the perfect midi skirt for my spring wardrobe.
As a girl who likes to experiment with edgy and classy pieces, I naturally had to have my midi skirt in black faux leather. I can assure you that this detail does not feel heavy in any way. I paired the skirt with a red crop top and my lace-up heels to lighten the look for spring. As a petite person, I always need to be aware of my outfits' proportions. This crop top keeps me from looking shapeless, especially with the slight hint of midriff. I really cannot tell you how excited I am about this skirt, and I'm sure it will be appearing in more blog posts as the weather warms up!

The Paintbrush Effect

Pants c/o Lily White (here) | H&M turtleneck | Target heels
It's about time I add some spice to my monochrome winter wardrobe. I saw these pants on the Lily White website and knew they were the perfect pair for me. I have a growing collection of these loose-fitting pants, and this pair is just perfect for the colder months. I love how the print gives off the effect of random paintbrush strokes. It adds a fun vibe to the simple color palette.
Another perk to these pants is their ability to lengthen your legs (not literally, unfortunately). As a 5'1" girl with a longer torso, my legs could use a good illusion. I've found that if you pair loose-fitting pants such as these with heels, your legs appear to go on for miles. The best part is that you can be comfortable while doing so.
I'm hoping that all these snow-filled photos are coming to an end soon.. Spring, where are you?!
Winter Pastels

Zara coat & pants | Forever 21 tee | Nine West heels | Urban Outfitters sunglasses
Is it spring yet? The pastel trend for this winter has been getting me too excited for the following season. I don't know how much longer I can bear the twenty-degree weather. I'm anxiously waiting for uncovered green lawns and longer sunshine! For now, this outfit is my way of channelling the beauty of spring.
This Zara coat is a great transition piece between winter and spring. Its color is reminiscent of the warmer months, while the blanket-esque material adds bulkiness for this Northeastern chill. I like how the boxy silhouette makes the outfit a little less refined as well. Since my outerwear makes such a bold statement, I styled it with an overall simple and neutral look. I think the striped boatneck tee creates a nice contrast while maintaining femininity. I tend to embrace my girly side when the weather warms up, so think of this as a sneak peek.
Let me know what you think of the pastel trend for winter! Thanks for stopping by :)
